Notice: Login failed, please close the client and try again.

I get the notice when I try to log into my account.
"Login failed, please close the client and try again."
The "Accept" button doesn't work, and when closing the app and trying again I get the same notice.
How can I resolve this?
I can start a new account in a new server, but cannot continue in server 42.
