Will top-up extra gem reward count for top-up vip/events?

So im sitting at 6500/12000 gems for unlocking Arima XIY. I see that you get twice of gems the first time you buy them, so that means if I buy 1200 that will count for 2400 or just 1200 for VIP or events top-up amount?
