change of faction?

How can I change faction? I somehow am dominion when I wanted to be Starfleet?

I started the game for the first time today. It showed me the choose faction screen for a little while then loaded up the Dominion faction before I got to choose anything. I wanted to play Federation, but I guess I'm stuck with Dominion now
